UL’s PURE Card Functional Test Suite qualified by Paycert
January 24, 2017 - UL is pleased to announce that its UL PURE Card Functional Test Suite is now formally qualified for usage in the certification scheme operated by Paycert, a long established and trusted certification authority in Europe.
The UL PURE Card Functional Test Suite is based on the Gemalto PURE functional test specifications. PURE is Gemalto’s white label EMV offering for the payment industry, for both chip-based payment cards and mobile payment solutions. Financial institutions, retailers and large private labels issuing payment cards and mobile payment credentials will be able to use the UL PURE Card Functional Test Suite to verify all functions of the PURE Dual-interface application, i.e. contact payments when cards are inserted in the point-of-sale terminal (POS) but also contactless payments where cards or mobiles are tapped on the POS. Thanks to this UL Test Suite, issuers will seamlessly validate their products in line with the PURE requirements, prior to certification. The solution will ultimately fasten the new products launch cycle for issuers as their cards implementation will be compliant with the PURE specifications and will more likely successfully complete their certification process.
The UL PURE Card Functional Test suite is part of the comprehensive UL Payment Card Functional Test Suites portfolio, helping payment card manufacturers, mobile payment application developers, card issuers and test labs to optimize time and costs for pre-certification readiness, leading to significant time to market benefits.
