Certification Test Tools

The Collis Certification Test Tools are used to prepare or to obtain the necessary approvals. To successfully certify, testing is necessary to ensure your payment product has been developed according to the requisite specifications and requirements and for testing quality assurance.

The Collis accredited, state-of-the-art certification test suites ensure your product complies with EMVCo standards, CPA &CCD, Visa VCPS, MasterCard M/Chip and MasterCard PayPass, MULTOS ITP and several ISO standards.

Collis CPA/CCD Test Suites

The Collis CPA/CCD Test Suites are part of our EMVCo test suite portfolio and allow to test whether a card works according to EMVCo standards for CPA and CCD. The tests can be performed during the development process of a card rather than at the certification stage. Therefore any errors which may come up during certification are discovered during development. The Collis CPA/CCD Level 2 Test Suites have been developed by Collis and are based on the Conclusion Test Tool.

For testing a CCD or CPA card, the Collis CPA/CCD Level 2 Test Suites act like a terminal. The Test Suites send commands to, and analyze the responses from, the CPA or CCD card. The test scripts include all information necessary for the test cases. In this way all types of interaction between card and terminal, and the behavior of the card, can be verified.

To perform the tests, the Conclusion Test Platform with the Collis CPA/CCD Level 2 Test Suites needs to be running. The CPA or CCD card needs to be inserted in the Smart Card Reader and the behavior of the card during the test will be logged. Decisions whether the CPA or CCD card has passed or failed in the test are made automatically.

The following test suites are available:
- Collis CPA L2 Compliance Test Suite
- Collis CCD L1 Compliance Test Suite
- Collis CCD L2 Compliance Test Suite

Collis EMV Level 2 Test Suite

The Collis EMV Level 2 Test Suite assists with (pre)certification of POS and ATM terminals for EMVCo Level 2 compliance. All terminals need to undergo EMV certification.

EMVCo developed specifications that define a set of requirements to ensure interoperability between smart cards and terminals on a global basis. EMVCo Type Approval testing is divided into two levels. EMV Level 1 covers physical, electrical and transport level interfaces. This testing is mandatory for the terminal hardware. EMV Level 2 covers payment application selection and EMV transaction processing. Level 2 is mandatory for the EMV kernel of the terminal application.

Level 2 approval ensures that the software in the terminal (payment application) can process the commands used in a transaction as defined by the EMV specification e.g. Application Selection, Data Objects List (DOL) retrieval, Application Cryptograms, Online/ Offline processing etc.

UL Transaction Security offers an easy-to-use, comprehensive test suite that will help you with your Level 2 pre-certification.

Collis VSDC Test Suite

The Collis VSDC Test Suite is part of our Visa Test Tool portfolio and allows testing of Visa card applications and transactions for full VSDC.

UL Transaction Security has implemented the test cases specified by Visa in scripts on the Collis Test Manager Platform. For practically every test case there is a script that runs fully automated to perform the checks as defined by Visa. Based on the test cases defined by Visa, UL Transacton Security developed the test suite to completely cover all transactions (Full VSDC) and test card image definitions.

The test suite is implemented in such a way that the tester can initiate the test by starting the test execution by a simple click and then following the on-screen instructions to complete the test. The corresponding test keys, PIN, etc are configured according to the test specification. However these parameters can also be easily modified if required. When the configuration is complete, the tool runs fully automated for that card and generates a report file for all the tests that are applicable for this test (except for test cases that block a card or an application, which the user will get a warning).

The Collis VSDC Test Suite has been confirmed by Visa.

Collis VCPS (qVSDC) Test Suite

The Collis VCPS qVSDC Test Suite is part of the Visa Test Tool portfolio and allows testing Visa card applications and transactions for qVSDC, MSD, and streamlined qVSDC.

For practically every test case there is a script that runs fully automated to perform the checks as defined by Visa. Based on the test cases defined by Visa, UL Transaction Security developed the test suite to completely cover all transactions (qVSDC, MSD, and Streamlined qVSDC) and test card image definitions.

The test suite is implemented in such a way that the tester can initiate the test by starting the test execution by a simple click and then following the on-screen instructions to complete the test. The corresponding test keys, PIN, etc are configured according to the test specification. However these parameters can also be easily modified if required. When the configuration is complete, the tool runs fully automated for that card and generates a report file for all the tests that are applicable for this test.
