Collis Tachograph Card Functional Testing Tool (FTT)

The Collis Tachograph Card Functional Test Tool covers functional type approval testing of all cards involved in the Tachograph scheme (Driver, Workshop, Control and Company cards), and includes interoperability and security testing.

Testing with the Collis Tachograph Card FTT is recommended by the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. The tool provides an environment for type approving your Tachograph cards against annex 1B.

Collis Tachograph Card FTT performs tachograph card functional testing in accordance with the requirements set in Annex 1B, Appendix 9, to the European agreement concerning the work of crews of vehicles engaged in international road transport (AETR).

The Collis Tachograph Card FTT is developed to test tachograph cards on a functional level. Additionally, it contains a basic implementation of security and interoperability tests.

In short, the Collis Tachograph Card FTT allows performing the following tests:
• ISO 7816-3 functionality tests for the Transmission Protocol
‐ ATR; PTS; T=0; T=1 tests
• ISO 7816-4 functionality tests for the Tachograph Card Application Protocol
‐ Command tests (Get Response; Select File; Read Binary; Update Binary; Get Challenge; Verify CHV; Verify Certificate; Internal Authenticate; External Authenticate; Manage Security Environment; Hash; Perform Hash of File; Compute Digital Signature; Verify Digital Signature)
‐ Error Message tests
‐ Finite State Machine tests
• Card Structure Tests for Driver, Workshop, Control and Company cards
‐ File Structure
‐ Access Conditions
‐ File Contents tests
• Transaction Tests
‐ Sequence for Unsigned/ Signed Data Files/ Resetting the Calibration Counter
‐ Mutual Authentication Mechanism
‐ Security – Key Management

The Collis Tachograph Card FTT is developed on top of the Collis Test Manager (a.k.a Conclusion Test Platform). CTM is a generic test platform for protocol and interfaces testing, and is very suitable for testing smartcard-based systems.
